Tutors e-mail parents with weekly updates detailing recent progress, academic goals, and assigned homework (if applicable). Tutors will also use these e-mails to confirm the date and time of the student’s next scheduled appointment. When questions arise, parents are invited to join the tutoring session during the first or last 10-15 minutes.

Palermo Prep makes use of the videoconferencing software Zoom to host Small Group Courses and One-on-One tutoring sessions. Screen-sharing and screenwriting allow for student-teacher collaboration, and unless paper copies are specifically requested, students will receive all study materials including practice exams, prep books, review guides, homework sets, and flashcards electronically. 

If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please let your tutor or course instructor know as soon as possible. If troubleshooting is ineffective, they will help you to reschedule the class or session that you missed. Necessary tools include a working computer with internet access, speakers and/or a microphone with a headset.

Before tutoring begins, parents are asked to provide some insight into their children’s academic goals, which may pertain to class grades, test scores, or admissions. On the first day of tutoring, students are asked to elaborate on their goals in their own words. Their tutors, in turn, help them to refine these goals and create a unique study plan to meet their specific needs. 

Test prep students are assigned homework, but completing their homework is not a requirement for attending class. 

Yes. Pending their availability, you are welcome to request to work with any instructor.

Most group classes are between 4-6 students. Private tutoring is one-on-one unless students request to meet together.

Yes. One way to lower the cost of private tutoring is to sign up with a friend. Please contact us by phone or with the form below to learn more.

We do not take formal attendance, but if you are sick or can’t make it to your class, please contact your tutor or class instructor as soon as possible. They will help you to reschedule or otherwise address the material missed.

Cancellation requests must be received within 48 hours or the scheduled time will be lost.

Yes, siblings receive a 10% discount when they sign up for separate programs at the same time. Discounts are also made available to partner schools, new students recommended by former students, and students who elect to sign up for private tutoring with a friend.

Yes. We accept online payments by credit card.
